For more than 20 years, Barbara Callow has been creating custom calligraphy and hand lettering for diverse clientele, ranging from intimate private parties and small businesses, to large corporations, marketing and advertising agencies. Barbara's interest and fascination with lettering began as an adolescent, growing up on Long Island, New York. While in college, she studied art, design and art education. After traveling from the East coast to the West, she settled in San Francisco where she began her calligraphic studies, while earning a Master's Degree in Creative Arts. She continued her studies with a variety of nationally and internationally renowned calligraphers and is a long-standing member of Friends of Calligraphy.

Barbara has been featured in publications such as Letter Arts Review, InStyle Magazine, Modern Bride and Martha Stewart Weddings, and her work has been exhibited in San Francisco, Los Angeles and Washington DC. She has also been commissioned as on-site calligrapher for Gucci’s Celebrity Fundraisers in New York and Beverly Hills, as well as local corporate and arts organizations in San Francisco, such as American Conservatory Theater and San Francisco Museums of Fine Arts.

Barbara’s commercial work has been featured in advertising campaigns for products, packaging, headlines, logos, greeting cards and titles, among other projects. Her custom calligraphy has added an elegant touch to numerous corporate and social events worldwide.
